Architectural Accessibility

Access and Parking Spaces

Access is possible via public transportation. Nearby bus stops include Zachęta 02 and Królewska 08, as well as the Świętokrzyska metro station. The building is accessible via a sidewalk, and there is also a pedestrian crossing nearby.

In front of the National Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw, located at Kredytowa Street, there are parking spaces designated for individuals with disabilities, provided by the road management authority.

Entrance

The main entrance to the National Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw is located on Kredytowa Street. Access to the entrance involves steps and features heavy wooden doors that do not open automatically, as well as automatic glass doors marked with contrasting strips. To the right of the main entrance, there is an external lift (electric carrier) that provides access to the main hall, where the reception and ticket office are located. To use the lift, you need to press the intercom button to summon a museum staff member. The reception provides information about the layout of the building both visually and audibly. Induction loops are available at the ticket office and reception area.

Accessibility Within the Building

Inside the building, the circulation spaces are wide. Elevators provide access between floors, allowing entry to each level and exhibition hall. The only exhibition area that is less accessible for individuals using wheelchairs is the section with children’s exhibits, which is accessible via several steps. Entry to this part of the building can be facilitated through an alternative route (through the cinema hall with the assistance of a museum staff member). On level -1, there is a cloakroom with lockers available for visitors, featuring varying heights for selection.

Level -1 also houses a conference room where some meetings and workshops take place. Access to the room is provided by a lift, which can be used with the assistance of a museum staff member.

Toilet

The toilet adapted for individuals with mobility disabilities is located on level -1, near the cloakroom.

Assistance Dog and Guide Dog

All dogs are welcome in the museum. There is a water bowl for dogs located next to the reception desk.
