18. Ethnographic
Film Review

15-17.11.2024

From November 15 to 17, 2024, The National Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw will host the 18th edition of “Eyes and Lenses,” Poland’s only recurring ethnographic film review.

The Ethnographic Laboratory Association invites you on a cinematic journey to many corners of the world. This year, we present 19 screenings that amplify women’s voices from diverse countries, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those migrating from Africa to Europe. You’ll follow the global circulation of indigenous music, immerse yourself in the Brazilian rainforest, or find a moment of calm observing the everyday lives of Orthodox nuns. “Eyes and Lenses” is also an opportunity to meet anthropologists: through the films they’ve created, as on-screen narrators, and in person during discussions accompanying the screenings.

All films will be presented with Polish and English subtitles in their original languages. This year, for the first time, select films will also be available online on the VOD Warszawa platform from November 18 to December 2, 2024.

Entry to all events is free. However, we kindly invite you to help sustain and expand “Eyes and Lenses” through your support.

Programme

Free entrance tickets are required for the screenings, which can be downloaded from the system and at the museum box office. Passes can be booked for individual films or for full days of screening.
